March 2026 Graduation Ceremony Held

March 13, 2026

On March 15, 2026, the Tokyo Waseda Foreign Language School Shin-Okubo Campus held the March 2026 Graduation Ceremony in the main auditorium. Approximately 150 graduates from 18 different countries, including China, Vietnam, Nepal, South Korea, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka, completed their studies and received their certificates of completion. The hall was filled with the proud faces of students, faculty, and invited guests who gathered to celebrate this milestone.

The ceremony opened with an address by Principal Yamamoto, who reflected on the perseverance shown by students throughout their studies, many of whom arrived in Japan with little to no Japanese ability. He emphasized that their journey was not only one of language acquisition but also of personal growth and cross-cultural understanding. His words resonated deeply with the graduates, several of whom were visibly moved.

The graduate representative, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh from Vietnam, delivered a heartfelt speech in fluent Japanese, reflecting on the challenges of balancing intensive study with part-time work and the friendships forged across national boundaries. She expressed gratitude to the teachers who provided not only academic instruction but also personal guidance during difficult times. Her speech received a standing ovation from the audience.
